Diego Otero grew up in Colombia knowing that drawing was his passion but not really a serious career choice in the context of the country in the early 1990's.
So after finishing Architecture school in Cali-Colombia, he moved with 2 big suitcases to New York City. He began a career in architectural illustration. While working he fostered his original dream of drawing by attending classes at Pratt, SVA and an animation workshop with Bill Plympton in his Chelsea Studio. At last, he attended the prestigious Gobelins, l'ecole de l'image to finally realize that he must fulfill his dream to tell stories through his drawings.
His Illustrations have been featured in real estate magazines such as The Commercial Observer ,a billboard in Times Square and more recently as animated sequences for a tv show produced by Senal Colombia.
Diego now lives in Portland, with his beautiful wife and 2 kids, where he continues to enjoy creating images that have a meaning and a purpose behind them.
